Our story

I’ve been farming in northern Tennessee for twelve years in addition to working as a hospice nurse practitioner. I’ve specialized in tomatoes, seasonal vegetables, sunflowers, blueberries, asparagus, apple trees and other edible perennials. Gardening is a place of mental rest and peace for me. Sharing what I grow brings me joy and satisfaction. In April 2024 I shifted my focus to flowers after moving into what was recently a working flower farm.

I named the farm ‘Little Broom” because I grew up on the east coast listening to stories from my grandmother Rose about her Italian heritage. My grandmother was a rock in my life and a wealth of unconditional love and faith in my potential. She was proud of her annual vegetable garden, rose bush and beech tree. Short on space, she even planted tomato plants along her driveway one year. Her maiden name was Scopetta which she explained meant little broom in Italian. Little Broom is named in honor of my grandmother, Rose.

On my father’s side my great grandfather was a florist in a small city in Connecticut and even bred his own raspberry plant. Growing plants is in my blood on both sides of my family tree.

The stars aligned and an established flower farm became available in Whites Creek, TN just 20 minutes outside of Nashville. This farm fulfilled all my dreams and then some. Little Broom Farm (new name) was lovingly built by its former owner with perennials (rare and common), blueberries, blackberries, apples and pear trees, greenhouses and unlimited growing potential. I relish in planting seeds, tending to plants, weeding and creating new spaces to grow. I’m excited to make flower farming my new focus!

The possibilities are endless and I am eager to hear more about what the local Nashville florist community wants more of. I love experimentation and trying new flowers. Feel free to drop me a line with your requests!

“I want Little Broom Farm to continue to offer plants you don’t find at every farm and to continue to provide the highest quality blooms that florists and designers can be proud to work with.”
